Tassos Hatzis (1927 – 1994) was a Greek painter and printmaker. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1949 – 1954) in the studio of Andreas Georgiadis. With a scholarship from the State Scholarship Foundation, he studied in Paris at the School of Art Professions and the Higher School of Graphic Arts. From 1960 to 1973 he was particularly involved in the graphic arts and his name was associated with notable artistic publications during this period. He has presented his works in many solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. Hatzis also illustrated and edited books by N. Kazantzakis, Elias Venezis, Menelaus Loudemis, Georgios Carter, Eleni Ouranis and the books of the educational reform introduced by Evangelos Papanoutsos. Hatzis was awarded the Athens Academy Prize (1971) and the UNESCO Prize (1969). His works can be found in the National Gallery, the Historical Museum of Bucharest, many galleries and private collections.
