Antonis Apergis (1938 – 2018) studied painting at the School of Fine Arts (1957-1962) under Yiannis Moralis and engraving with Kostas Grammatopoulos. In 1966 he went to Paris, where, until 1969, he studied fresco and mosaic at the School of Fine Arts. Returning to Greece, he taught Drawing and Color for many years in private schools, while at the same time he was involved in stage design and book illustration. His exhibition activity, which began in 1960, includes individual presentations and participation in Panhellenic and group exhibitions of painting and engraving in Greece and abroad. His work, characterized by a personal style that combines elements of figurative painting and Abstraction, includes compositions of a surrealist nature where color plays an important role, contributing to the creation of a poetic and dreamy atmosphere.
