A hand-signed first edition by one of modern Greeceās most influential literary figures, Nikiforos Vrettakos (1912ā1991). ‘Liturgy Beneath the Acropolis’ is the poet’s second great composite creation (after ‘Prometheus’) and focuses on the Greek spirit, world peace and humanity, using the sacred rock of the Acropolis as a symbol of light and morality. The work has the character of a “liturgy”, a spiritual ritual, where the poet praises life and the need for reconciliation between peoples.
