Rare, Nenov, 1974 Bulgarian Socialist Exhibition Poster, 30 Years of Socialist Bulgaria, Athens

180.00

Original exhibition poster issued in 1974 for the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Socialist Bulgaria, held at the Pnevmatiko Kentro of the Municipality of Athens (23 November – 4 December 1974).

A visually striking example of Bulgarian socialist-era graphic design, the composition combines bold geometric abstraction with vivid color contrasts on a dark ground. The central open-book motif refers to the exhibition theme (Bulgarian Books and Illustrations), while the surrounding elements evoke stylized solar and folkloric forms.

The design reflects the visual language of 1970s Eastern European modernism, where abstraction and symbolism were central to state-sponsored cultural production.
