Efthymios “Makis” Warlamis was a celebrated Greek-Austrian artist whose career spanned architecture, painting, sculpture, design, literature, and education. Born in Veria, Greece, he studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and later served as Professor of Architecture there.
Warlamis gained international recognition through numerous exhibitions and cultural projects. Among his most ambitious undertakings was his monumental artistic tribute to Alexander the Great, comprising approximately 1,700 paintings, sculptures, constructions, and models. First presented in Thessaloniki in 1997 during the city’s tenure as European Capital of Culture, the exhibition subsequently toured internationally, including Austria, Switzerland, Cyprus, Jordan, Egypt, and Australia.
His works are represented in museums, public collections, and private collections throughout Europe.
