An original 1989 Greek exhibition poster produced for the Έκθεση Σκηνογραφίας (Scenography Exhibition) held in Athens from 1–24 February 1989.
The exhibition was organised by the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece (E.E.T.E.) together with the National Youth Foundation, and brought together an important group of Greek artists and scenographers associated with twentieth-century theatre and visual culture.
The front of the poster features a striking black, white and red theatrical composition, depicting a stylised Harlequin-like figure within a stage setting. The artwork is attributed to the distinguished Greek sculptor and scenographer Aspasia Papadoperaki.
A particularly interesting characteristic of this example is that it is printed on both sides. The reverse is not blank but contains the official exhibition information and the list of participating artists, effectively functioning as a contemporary documentary record of the exhibition.
