The Palestinian Resistance
Translated into Arabic by Sabah Kanaan
Published in Beirut by Dar Al-Tali’ah for Printing and Publishing in April 1970.
First Arabic Edition.
Rare first Arabic edition of Gérard Chaliand’s study of the Palestinian resistance, published at a particularly significant moment in the development of the Palestinian fedayeen movements and shortly before the events of Black September.
Chaliand, a French writer and specialist in armed conflicts, provides a contemporary account and analysis of the Palestinian resistance, including its organisation, political ideas and military activities.
Published in Beirut in 1970, this edition is an interesting contemporary document for the study of Palestinian history, Middle Eastern political history, armed movements and twentieth-century military history.
Special Feature
This particular copy is especially interesting because the pages remain uncut/unopened.
The leaves appear never to have been fully separated for reading, an unusual state of preservation for a paperback published more than fifty years ago. The interior pages remain exceptionally clean.
The original illustrated wrappers are preserved.
Condition
Good overall condition.
The interior is exceptionally clean, with the leaves remaining uncut/unopened.
The original illustrated wrappers show age toning and some handling and edge wear, consistent with a paperback published in 1970.
No obvious writing or annotations are visible in the photographed pages.
Please examine the photographs carefully, which form an integral part of the condition description.
