Georgios Stathopoulos, Original Silk Screen Print, Couple in Athens, Hand Signed

Georgios Stathopoulos is a distinguished Greek painter, whose painting art combines surrealist and expressionist elements. He was born in 1944 and lives and works in Athens. He studied painting and sculpture from 1966 to 1971 at the Academy of Fine Arts under the teachers Yannis Moralis, Nikos Nikolaou, Yannis Pappas and Dimitris Kalamaras. Stathopoulos also dealt with scenography and illustration. He held his first solo exhibition in 1970, in Athens and has participated in many individual and group exhibitions in Greece, as well as in the USA and Belgium. He has illustrated a series of books, music CD covers and posters.  His painting combines surrealist and expressionist elements, but in a simplistic script.
