Stratis Tsirkas (pen name of Ioannis Hatziandreas) (Cairo 1911 – Athens 1980) was a Greek, writer among the most valuable prose writers of the post-war generation. In 1930 he befriended the writer Constantin Cavafy and wrote books about the great poet.
Maro Loizou (1940-2007) was a Greek writer, who mainly focused on children’s literature. Lyrics of her works have been set to music by her husband and well-known composer Manos Loizos, whom she married in 1965. In 1974 she published her first children’s book, “It Was and Wasn’t”, and 34 other books.
