Joseph Freiherr von Eichendorff (1788 –1857) was a German poet, novelist, playwright, critic, translator, and anthologist. Eichendorff was one of the major writers and critics of Romanticism. Ever since their publication and up to the present day, some of his works have been very popular in German-speaking Europe

The Schauspielhaus Zurich is the largest theater in the city of Zurich and is housed in the Peacock Complex that lines the city’s home square. It has 750 places. In the basement of the building is the Kammer studio stage for a maximum of 70 spectators. Thanks to Jewish emigrants who were allowed to play on this stage, it became the leading house of German-speaking theater from 1933 and during the Second World War.
