Georgios Polymeris was during the Ottoman Occupation of Greece one of t
he most famous printers, publishers and booksellers of Athens and mainly of Ermoupolis. But he was himself an editor of articles in newspapers, as well as the author of various works. His Dissertations, which he published, occupy a special place in his writing activity intermittently from 1836 to 1855, to which he owes most of his fame.
Edward Everett (1794 – 1865) was an American politician, Unitarian pastor, educator, diplomat, and orator from Massachusetts. Everett, as a Whig, served as U.S. representative, U.S. senator, the 15th governor of Massachusetts, minister to Great Britain, and United States secretary of state. He also taught at Harvard University and served as its president.
