Demetrius Alexandre Zambaco-Pacha (Istanbul, May 6, 1832 – Cairo, was a Turkish doctor of Greek origin. He studied in Paris, and later, for the services rendered in the hospitals of that capital, he was naturalized French and obtained the position of head of clinic at the Faculty, being, moreover, elected corresponding member of the Academy of Medicine and of the Institute of France. Called by the Ottoman Government to organize the hospital school, he settled in Constantinople, from where he sent communications to the Medical Congresses of Copenhagen, London, Madrid, Rome, Vienna, Moscow and Lisbon.
