The Democratic Progressive Party was a political party active in the period 1946-1949, under the leadership of Emmanuel Tsouderos. In the newspaper Eleftheria of October 22, 1946, one can read the first statements of E. Tsouderos regarding the principles of the party and we can thus conclude that this party was formed within the month of October 1946. As can be seen from the relevant article, the party was joined by more executives of the Progressive Party of Georgios Kafantaris who had died a little earlier (August 1946). The party never participated autonomously in the elections. Shortly before the 1950 elections, he joined the Progressive Liberal Party founded by Nikolaos Plastiras and other independents and created the Center National Progressive Union. In the year 1951, E. Tsouderos and his political friends left EPEK and joined the Liberal Party, without reactivating the Democratic Progressive Party.
