Exceptional original music-industry production material from 1974.
A set of four original circular lithographic production films / master label artworks used in the pre-digital printing process for the record labels of Melina Mercouri – Ζορμπάς (Zorbas), the iconic Greek release issued by Phonogram Greece in 1974, catalogue no. 2393 027.
These are not printed record labels or reproductions. They are original production materials used in the preparation of the label artwork for pressing, retaining the distinctive red opaque touch-up lacquer applied by lithographers to control which areas of the artwork would reproduce during the printing process.
Each film measures approximately 10.5 cm in diameter and remains on its original protective backing sheet, exactly as shown in the photographs.

Condition
Good vintage production-used condition. The films show extensive original handling and lithographic retouching, including areas of red opaque lacquer, abrasions and signs of age/use. This is production material rather than finished commercial artwork, and its worn appearance is part of its historical character.
All four pieces are preserved on their original protective backing sheets.
Collector’s significance
A highly unusual opportunity for collectors of Melina Mercouri, Greek music, Mikis Theodorakis, Phonogram, vintage record manufacturing and graphic-production history.
Unlike a conventional 1974 LP, these objects were part of the industrial process that created the commercial record itself. Surviving original label-production films are inherently ephemeral and were never intended for retail distribution, making this a particularly interesting archival set.
