Pavlos Nikolakopoulos was born in Athens (1973) where he lives and works. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts. Obsessions was his first solo show. The multifaceted work of Pavlos Nikolakopoulos is characterized by the artist’s long-term research on the relationship between man and the modern social environment. Sometimes resorting to the density of expressive means and sometimes to the simplicity of abstraction, the artist creates a figurative set of unfamiliar narratives that at first glance leads the viewer’s gaze to disintegration. However, Nikolakopoulos’ art penetrates the obvious, as it settles into the genre of an emotion/co-emotion, which aims to raise awareness of the collective alienation of man in the post-industrial world.
