Tassos Venetsanopoulos was born in 1950 in Athens. He studied economics at the University of Athens and from 1977 he started working as a photographer and editor at Technics Editions. In 1989 he attended the photography seminar of Platon Rivelis who played an important role in his photography. From 2000 to 2012 he worked for the Greek editions of National Geographic & Traveler magazines. His photos have been published in the magazines 4 TrohoiTaxidevontas, Fly, Boat & Sea, Elliniko Motorrad as well as in National Geographic & Traveler magazines.

Lake Kastraki (Limni Kastrakiou) is an artificial lake near Kastraki in Aetolia-Acarnania, western Greece. The lake is drained by the river Acheloos, and fed by the rivers Acheloos and Inachos. It was formed by the Kastraki Dam, completed in 1969. Its area is about 28 km2 and its maximum capacity is 950,000,000 m³ of water. It is used for the generation of hydroelectric power by DEI.
