1960, Odysseas Elytis, Exi kai mia Typsis gia ton Ourano, Nobel Laureate, Yiannis Moralis Art

350.00

Rare first edition, first printing of Έξη και μια Τύψεις για τον Ουρανό (“Six Plus One Remorses For The Sky”) by Nobel Prize-winning Greek poet Odysseas Elytis, one of the defining literary voices of 20th-century Greece.

Published in Athens by the celebrated IKAROS editions in 1960, this elegant and highly sought-after volume belongs to Elytis’ mature poetic period and reflects the fusion of surrealist influence, Greek lyric tradition, and modernist sensibility that made his work internationally acclaimed.

The edition is especially notable for its original cover and frontispiece by Yiannis Moralis, one of the most important figures of modern Greek painting and graphic design. The restrained modernist aesthetics of the publication perfectly complement Elytis’ luminous poetic language.

Printed in only 550 copies, this first edition is increasingly scarce on the international market, particularly in original condition.
