Rare! 1890’s, Chania, Canea, Crete, Greece, Original CDV Photo, Guiseppe Berinda and Battista Anselmi

Giuseppe  Berinda dealt with photography in Chania for about 30 years. At the beginning he cooperated with Battista Anselmi with whom he also had commercial enterprises. His photographic workshop was opposite Kruger’s house, behind the Port Authority. They mainly shot landscapes of Crete, panoramic views and historical events that took place at that time on the island, in addition to portraits, which they photographed daily. Shortly after the Cretan Revolution of 1865-1867, an album of his artistic photographs was released, depicting the Monastery of Arkadiou, Sfakia, Halepa and which he signed as Giuseppe Berinda.
