About the book: The Ministry of Military Affairs of Greece in 1921 was responsible for the command and organization of the Greek army, at a critical period during the Asia Minor Campaign (1919-1922). That year, the Greek army was operating in Asia Minor, facing significant challenges in terms of supply, transport and strategy.
The ministry played a decisive role in the management of military operations, the organization of the army and logistics. Under its political leadership, regulations and instructions were issued regarding equipment, the use of new technologies, such as cars in the army, and the training of personnel.
In 1921, political and military developments in Greece were rapid. After the electoral victory of the anti-Venizelians in 1920, King Constantine I returned to the throne, which provoked diplomatic reactions from the Allied Powers, while the military operations in Asia Minor continued with a dubious prospect. Within this context, the Ministry of Military Affairs was responsible for strengthening and maintaining the military presence in Asia Minor, until the retreat and final defeat in 1922.
