A rare and highly decorative 1925 Greek primary-school reader, featuring an exceptional classical Greek warrior cover illustration.
Offered here is an authentic 1925 fifth edition of «Στα Παλαιά Χρόνια» (In the Old Days) by educators Aristotelis Kourtidis and G. Konidaris, published in Athens by the historic publishing house I. Kollaros (Ι. Κολλάρος).
The book was issued as an Αναγνωστικόν Δ΄ Δημοτικού, a reading book for Greek primary-school pupils. Written in a simplified form of Demotic Greek, it contains short stories, prose and poetry concerning Greek history, mythology, family life and patriotic themes, reflecting the educational and cultural ideals of early 20th-century Greece.

Good antique condition, with authentic age and signs of use.
The original illustrated cover is present and retains its strong period graphics and colour. There is edge wear, minor tearing, corner chipping and age-toning/foxing, consistent with a schoolbook that has survived approximately one century.
The original hand-bound/stitched binding remains intact, although the spine and binding show age-related wear.
The cover also bears an authentic vintage ink stamp.
The interior is complete, with all pages present and no missing text. Pages show varying degrees of foxing, light staining and handling marks consistent with school use. A light watermark is visible on the opening pages.
