This work was issued during the 1970s and reflects the strong political and social engagement of Tassos’s oeuvre, known for its powerful, humanistic themes and bold graphic expression. “The Guy” is a brilliant example of his commitment to human dignity and social commentary.

Tassos was one of Greece’s most important 20th-century engravers, known for his politically charged and socially conscious art. A student of Dimitrios Galanis and Kefallinos, Tassos became a powerful voice in visual resistance, chronicling key events in modern Greek history through printmaking. His work was exhibited globally, including in France, the U.S., Italy, the Soviet Union, and Japan.
