Katerina Zaka is a Greek artist born in 1947 who was educated at the Heidelberg and Berlin College of Art under the tutelage of Karl Rosenberg, as well as in Newport, Rhode Island. Zaka’s had her first solo exhibition in West Berlin in 1977 and 1978. Further exhibitions followed at various galleries and prestigious events such as the Berlin Biennale. Her debut solo exhibition in Greece took place in December 1985, mainly at Zygos Gallery. Zaka continued to exhibit her paintings in Greece and internationally, with solo exhibitions in Washington D.C., Athens, and Houston, as well as participation in group exhibitions in Santa Fe and Washington D.C. Her works are housed in esteemed collections worldwide, including the George M. Smith M.D. Collection of the Kennedy family, the Vorres Collection in Athens, and a gallery in New York.
