Description
A rare, signed and dedicated copy of Σαρκωμένες Αλήθειες (“Incarnate Truths”), issued in Athens in 1937 in a strictly limited edition.
Self-published by Varvara Theodoropoulou-Livada under the pseudonym “Anemone,” the work forms part of the interwar literary production that sought to articulate social and moral experience through short narrative forms. The collection engages with themes of human struggle, sacrifice, and ethical tension, presenting what the author frames as “incarnate” or embodied truths drawn from lived experience.
The present example, numbered 47 of only 200 copies, bears a handwritten dedication and signature by the author in her pseudonym. Such copies—linking the published work directly to the author’s literary identity—are infrequently encountered.
