The Artemision Bronze, also known as the God from the Sea, is one of the masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture. The poster shows a striking head-and-shoulders detail against a vivid Aegean blue background. Though identified as Poseidon of Cape Artemision on the poster, scholars continue to debate whether the statue represents Poseidon holding a trident, or Zeus brandishing a thunderbolt.
The statue, slightly larger than life-size at 2.09 m, dates to around 460 BC and is now one of the highlights of the National Archaeological Museum of Athens. Its powerful profile has become iconic, even appearing on Greek currency, including a 500 drachma postage stamp (1954–1977) and a 1,000 drachma banknote (1970–1987).
A rare and collectible vintage Greek travel poster, ideal for framing and display in a living room, office, gallery, or museum-inspired interior.
