Loukas Theodorakopoulos (1925 – 2013) was a Greek poet and translator. He joined the resistance action during the German Occupation and in the period from spring to December 1944 he belonged to the EPON of the 2nd Division of ELAS. After the war he came to Athens, where he settled permanently. He made his appearance in the field of literature in 1954 with the poetry collection “Shame of Scream“. A pioneer of the gay liberation movement in our country, he belonged to the Gay Liberation Movement of Greece (AKOE), and was responsible for publishing the magazine “Amfi” during the period 1979 to 1984. He belongs to the first post-war generation. His poetry is disparaging of commonly accepted values, while openly expressing his socially unacceptable eroticism. In his prose he uses internal monologue. His poems were translated into English. Mythology of Xanthi was printed in the first days of the April 21st coup.
