Yiannis Ritsos (Greek: Γιάννης Ρίτσος, 1909 – 1990) was a Greek poet and an active member of the Greek Resistance during World War II. While he disliked being regarded as a political poet, he has been called the great poet of the Greek left.

The Communist Youth of Greece (Greek: Κομμουνιστική Νεολαία Ελλάδας, romanized: Kommounistiki Neolea Elladas; Greek: ΚΝΕ, romanized: KNE) is the youth wing of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE). It publishes the monthly magazine Odigitis (Greek: Οδικήτης, “guider”) and hosts Odigitis festivals in most of the major towns and cities of Greece. KNE is a member of the World Federation of Democratic Youth.
