Nikos Chouliaras (1940 – 2015) was a Greek painter, sculptor, writer, poet and songwriter. He was one of the most important contemporary painters. His short stories have been translated into French, Italian, English, Swedish and German. He also designed school books and book and record covers. In 1969 he participated in the Venice Biennale and in the same year he was awarded the First Parthenis Prize.
