HIM (1996-2017)was a Finnish gothic rock band formed in 1991 by vocalist Ville Valo, guitarist Mikko “Linde” Lindström, and bassist Mikko “Migé” Paananen in Helsinki, Finland. They became one of Finland’s most internationally successful bands, blending gothic rock, metal, and alternative influences into their signature style, which they called “Love Metal.” The band was known for their mix of melancholic lyrics, romantic themes, and heavy yet melodic sound. Ville Valo’s deep, distinctive voice and poetic songwriting played a major role in their success.
