Filippo Tommaso Emilio Marinetti (1876 – 1944) was an Italian poet, editor, art theorist, and founder of the Futurist movement. He was associated with the utopian and symbolist artistic and literary community Abbaye de Créteil between 1907 and 1908. Marinetti is best known as the author of the first Futurist Manifesto, which was written and published in 1909, and as a co-author of the Fascist Manifesto, in 1919.

The Italian-Greek magazine Olimpo was published in Thessaloniki during the war. The magazine was published monthly from April 1936 to April 1940, when it was abruptly discontinued. In its first 7 issues it hosted only Italian texts, from issue 8 it started to include Greek translations of Italian texts or Greek works alongside their Italian translation. Its almost 3,500 pages host columns of general literary interest and news, poems, short stories, serialized novels, book reviews and tributes to famous writers, there is no shortage of advertisements for literary magazines, travel agencies and tobacco companies. The issues dealt with by the magazine are mainly related to the official italian diplomacy of the time. In this spirit Marinetti’s Futurism  is presented. Works by Paolo Buzzi, Corrado Govoni, Enzo Mazza are also included.
