Herbert Wendt (1914  – 1979 ) was a German writer. In addition to his literary work, Wendt was the author of numerous works in the fields of zoology, anthropology and archeology. Of lasting scientific importance are his international bestseller I was looking for Adam and the reference works Grzimek’s Animal Life and Kindler’s Encyclopedia Man for which he is responsible

The Dutch artist Dorul van der Heide (1903 – 1994) was the first (Rolf Kauka’s) Fix and Foxi illustrator.
