Rare and collectible signed first edition of Κρητικές Μαντινάδες (Cretan Mandinada) by Yiannis Dermitzakis, self-published in Sitia, Crete in 1963.

This volume is dedicated to the rich tradition of the Cretan mantinada, a distinctive form of folk poetry consisting of short, rhythmic couplets that express emotion, wit, and everyday life. Deeply rooted in Cretan culture, mantinades reflect themes ranging from love and satire to philosophy and social commentary.

Yiannis Dermitzakis (1907–1984), also known as Dermitzogiannis, was a renowned Cretan musician and virtuoso violinist and lyre player. He composed over 20,000 mantinades, making a significant contribution to the preservation of Cretan oral and musical tradition.
