Hans Scheib (born 1949, Potsdam) is a prominent German sculptor and graphic artist known for his expressive wood and bronze sculptures. A graduate of the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts, he began his career in East Berlin before moving to West Berlin in 1985. Drawing inspiration from German Expressionism and mythology, his vividly painted works explore human emotion and narrative. Scheib’s art is held in major collections worldwide, and he has received several awards, including the Carlo-Schmid-Preis and the Egmont Schaefer Prize for Drawing.
