Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew (Greek: Βαρθολομαῖος; born 29 February 1940) is the current Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople since 2 November 1991. In accordance with his title, he is regarded as the primus inter pares (first among equals) in the Eastern Orthodox Church, and as a spiritual leader of the Eastern Orthodox Christians worldwide.  
 
 
Iakovos Tsounis (1925 – 2021) was a Greek shipowner, World War II veteran and national benefactor. He was also an honorary major general and founder of the “Iakovos Tsounis” Museum in Aigio.
 
 
About the book: The book is a collection of essays, speeches, and reflections that chronicle Patriarch Bartholomew’s efforts to address the pressing global challenges of the modern era while maintaining the spiritual mission of the Orthodox Church.
