HammerFall is a Swedish power metal band formed in Gothenburg in 1993 by guitarist Oscar Dronjak. They are one of the most influential bands in the European power metal scene, known for their anthemic melodies, fast-paced riffs, and epic lyrics often inspired by fantasy, medieval themes, and warriors. HammerFall helped revive traditional heavy metal in the 1990s when grunge and alternative rock dominated the scene. Their debut album, Glory to the Brave (1997), was a massive success and put them at the forefront of the power metal movement, alongside bands like Blind Guardian, Helloween, and Stratovarius. HammerFall is one of the most important power metal bands, keeping classic heavy metal alive with their melodic yet powerful sound, soaring vocals, and heroic themes. Their influence extends to many newer metal bands, and they remain a leading force in the metal festival circuit.
Refuge is a German power metal band formed in Herne, in 2014 by former members of Rage.
Blazon Stone is a Swedish heavy metal band formed by Cederick Forsberg in 2011. The band is heavily inspired by the German metal band Running Wild, particularly their classic pirate-themed speed and power metal style. The name “Blazon Stone” is a direct reference to Running Wild’s 1991 album of the same name. Blazon Stone is known for its high-energy speed metal with galloping riffs, melodic twin guitar harmonies, and epic choruses. The music captures the spirit of 80s and early 90s pirate-themed metal, much like Running Wild, but with a fresh and modern production.
Armored Dawn is a Brazilian heavy/power metal band formed in 2014 in São Paulo and known for their epic, melodic, and symphonic take on metal. They blend elements of traditional heavy metal, power metal, and Viking themes, often featuring grandiose orchestrations and cinematic storytelling in their music.
