About the Magazine:
Founded in 1882 by Emm. Galanis, Pythagoras was the first and only Greek Masonic magazine of its time, serving as the official organ of the “Pythagoras” Lodge. Its early issues recorded Lodge minutes, regulations up to the 33rd degree, speeches, historical accounts, and unique Masonic reference materials such as the first Greek Masonic Dictionary. The publication had an intermittent history until its regular revival in 1923 under A. Alexandropoulos, during which time it became a key voice for Greek Freemasonry. The magazine not only covered internal Masonic affairs but also addressed wider political and humanitarian concerns, publishing appeals and reports on atrocities in Crete, Macedonia, and Thrace. This lot from 1927 represents a rare surviving set from the interwar period, a time of active and politically engaged Greek Masonry.
