This rare and striking poster was printed for an exhibition at the well-known Gallery 3 in Kolonaki, a hub of contemporary art in Athens during the 1980s. It features one of Yannis Tsarouchis’ most beloved models — Dominique, a young French man who often appeared in his work as an embodiment of idealized beauty. In this particular piece, Dominique is portrayed as the personification of Spring, drawn from the collection of D. Pieridis.
Yannis Tsarouchis (1910 – 1989) is internationally recognized as one of Greece’s most important modernist painters. His distinctive work often merges classical Greek aesthetics with contemporary themes and has been especially noted for its homoerotic iconography, depicting soldiers, sailors, and male nudes in timeless, often poetic compositions.
