It features one of Yannis Tsarouchis’ most beloved models — Dominique, a young French man who often appeared in his work as an embodiment of idealized beauty. In this particular piece, Dominique is portrayed as the personification of Spring, drawn from the collection of D. Pieridis.

Yannis Tsarouchis (1910 – 1989) is internationally recognized as one of Greece’s most important modernist painters.
