Alexandros or Alekos Korogiannakis (1906 – 1966) was a Greek engraver and painter. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts. After graduating, he systematically engaged in engraving. From 1928 to 1939, he worked as a cartoonist for various newspapers and magazines. In 1939, he was hired by the Bank of Greece to engrave Greek banknotes. In order to specialize in the engraving of banknotes, he went to Vienna and attended copper engraving courses at the National Bank of Austria. In 1942, he engraved the Victory of Samothrace on the 5000 drachma banknote. After World War II, he engaged in the design of stamps and illustrated many books. In parallel with engraving, he was engaged in painting. He presented his works in individual and group exhibitions. His works were mainly naturalistic depictions of everyday labor, landscapes, nudes and representations of ancient religious themes.
