The Lesvos Prefecture Album, published in September 1937 on the occasion of the XII Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), is an important document of the agricultural and economic life of Lesvos during the interwar period. It was published by the Lesvos Chamber of Agriculture and presents the productive identity of the island, with emphasis on agriculture, livestock farming and local crafts. The album aimed to showcase the potential and achievements of the Prefecture of Lesvos, strengthening its presence in the national economy and attracting investment and commercial partnerships. It included statistics, photographs, maps and information on the main crops, such as olive oil, as well as on livestock farming and local crafts. The 12th Thessaloniki International Fair of 1937 was one of the most important events of the pre-war period, with the participation of many Greek prefectures and international exhibitors. The album of Lesvos is part of this effort to highlight regional development and strengthen the national economy through the promotion of local productive capabilities.

The Thessaloniki International Fair (Greek: Diethnis Ekthesi Thessalonikis), is an annual international exhibition event held in Thessaloniki, Greece’s second-largest city. It has been held in the first week of September since 1926, and its opening is traditionally marked by a series of programmatic statements by the Prime Minister of Greece.
