Costis Bastias (Emilios Konstantinos Bastounopoulos) (1901-1972) was a Greek writer, journalist, publisher, editor-in-chief and chronicler of major Athenian newspapers, general director of the Royal (National) Theater (1937-1941), the National Opera (1940-1941 and 1959-1964) and the National Radio Foundation (1961-1963) and creator of the new institutions of the State Literary Awards (1938), the House of Letters and Arts (1938), the Panhellenic Art Exhibition (1938) in Zappeion , etc.
